Back from Gatlinburg

November 04, 2005 6:05 PM

April and I spent four days and three nights in a cozy cabin in the mountains. Our time was very relaxing and enjoyable. Monday we got to the cabin in the early evening and went into Gatlinburg to have dinner and to ride the Sky Lift. We saw a great view at the top.

Early Tuesday we went horseback riding, which was one of the highlights of the trip. During our horseback riding, we saw a black bear. It was not too close and the bear actually ran away once we saw it. Next, we went to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We drove through the mountains and made several stops to take pictures. We also went on a small trail.

Wednesday we spent most of the day in Gatlinburg. We rode the Ober Gatlinburg tram and saw a black bear habitat. Not much to look at since the bears were sleeping. We did some shopping and ate at some great restaurants. Another exciting adventure was when we went to Ripley’s Aquarium. We saw lots of fish and there was an underwater tunnel where you had fish all around you. There is one area where a shark attacked the glass, which left some markings.

Our two year anniversary will not be forgotten. Unfortunately, we were unable to get pictures of both April and I. Stay tuned for updated pictures of our trip in the gallery.

Two Year Anniversary!

October 30, 2005 8:48 PM

April and I are nearing our two year wedding anniversary. November 1st was the big day and to celebrate we are taking a week off work and going to Gatlinburg, TN. We are staying at the Mountain Shadows Resort in the Hugs & Kisses cabin. This will probably be the longest I have been without the internet and my computer for a long time. It is worth it to spend good quality time with my wife.

It’s amazing how time goes by. Two years and we are still going strong. Before getting married we dated on and off for about eight years. I could not imagine my life without April and I am glad that we are together. I am still in awe that we got back together after being apart for a year. We will be sure to get pictures of our trip as well as updated pictures of April and I.

To change the subject, I recently bought April an iPod mini since she has been wanting one since they were introduced. I found a good deal for a new iPod mini at Power Max. The reason that she wanted the mini is because it came in pink. She does not understand why Apple would get rid of the mini since she knew lots of people who were wanting one. Oh well.

Since getting her own iPod, she is now thinking about putting all her CDs in iTunes so she can listen to them on her iPod. I have had my 3rd generation iPod for two years and I cannot live without it. I forgot my iPod one morning and I actually had to listen to the radio. It was horrible and I missed my iPod…how sad is that?

Time to get in shape

October 18, 2005 11:05 AM

Since I am such a nice guy I ended up handing my sickness to April. She was not too happy. After being sick for a week we are both back to normal health.

I decided to start exercising again. Why? Well, for one reason to feel better. April works out all the time while I usually just sit on the couch and get a bigger belly. I am usually working on my web development skills, which seems to be taking an incredible amount of time.

I am one of those lucky individuals who would eat and not gain much weight. As I get older I have noticed some changes in my body. My metabolism is not as high as it used to be. I am also not as active as I once was. For this reason I have started my workout plan.

I am not going all out. A basic exercise routine for 15 minutes a day is what I have started out doing. That is good considering it used to be zero minutes a day. As I get in better shape, I will gradually increase my workout.

I usually eat well and take vitamins. I started taking lots of vitamin C so that I can boost my immune system. Some good exercise will also help my memory, which is always nice to have.

Sick weekend but added more photos

October 02, 2005 3:00 PM

Well, you asked for it, you got it. I have received feedback that I should add photos of my wife and I. The wait is over. I have placed a few photos for your viewing pleasure in my photo gallery. Unfortunately, since I do not have a scanner, I cannot add pictures that were taken with a film-based camera.

April’s mom was in a car accident last Wednesday. Nobody was seriously hurt, but her car was in bad shape. She has been on medication to help her with the pain. This weekend she got a used Ford Mustang to replace her car. It is great that she is doing better.

This weekend sucked big time. I got sick early Saturday with a sore throat, headache and a high fever. The highest my fever got was 101.5°. My temperature went back to normal this morning, but my soar throat has remained. Because my job deals with talking on the phone, I left work early today so I can recuperate.

Jack in the Box Voice Mail

September 17, 2005 5:03 PM

I received this in an email and thought I would share it with those who have not heard this. Read the description below and then click the link for the audio.

On a recent Spurs trip, we were asking one of our sponsors who works at Jack in the Box some funny stories or experiences with the company. The funniest story he had was when an operations manager was late for a meeting and called his boss to tell him he was running late. As he was leaving the voice mail message, he witnessed an accident and went on to provide “play by play” of the incident.

After telling us the story, he promised to send us a copy of the voice mail and here it is. This is the actual voice mail message. It was passed along and forwarded so many times within Jack in the Box, it crashed their voice mail server.

I Can’t Afford My Gasoline

September 03, 2005 12:05 AM

Our country is going through a bad time. With gas prices going up, there are many angry consumers. I thought I would try to make light out of the situation. The following link is a movie about the gasoline prices. It is really funny. Sometimes you have to laugh!

I Can’t Afford My Gasoline

April and I have made our donation to the American Red Cross. The Red Cross is a good organization that needs to be kept alive for situations that arise. My employer has made a one million dollar cash contribution. That is awesome!

Here is something freaky for you. The following article talks about a hurricane that hits New Orleans, Louisiana in August. The freaky part about this article is that it was written in October 2004! Follow the link to the article. Very interesting.

Pictures of Tiggs

August 29, 2005 1:14 AM

TiggsAs promised, I have placed photos of our new cat, Tiggs on the web site. You can view them by going to the photo gallery.

Tiggs and Princess have hit it off better than April and I thought. They have played together and still no fighting. Tiggs is also hard to wake up. We have tried to keep him active and awake through the day so he does not keep us awake at night. At night Tiggs will purr loud as he is in our faces. He gets in April’s face more than mine, which is fine since Princess has a tendency to wake me up in the mornings.

April is so happy that we have another cat in the house. Two animals will be enough for now. I think April is wanting a dog, but that will be a long time from now.

Welcome to our home, Tiggs

August 25, 2005 3:07 AM

April and I picked up our new cat at the Indianapolis Humane Society today. His name is Tiggs. He is a five month old orange cat. We were supposed to get him yesterday, but he was not yet neutered. April was extremely happy with the new cat.

He was excited at the humane society. Once we got him home, he started running all over the place. He is a handfull. He found Princess’s food dishes and has started eating out of her bowls. We have to keep showing him his food dishes. He also has used Princess’s litter box. We were amazed that he has already used that instead of his own.

Of course the introduction between Princess and Tiggs started out rough. We were surprised on their interactions. No fights yet, but we do not think there will be any serious problems between the two. Pictures are coming soon.
