I have been using del.icio.us to store bookmarks on the web so I can get them from any computer. After Yahoo bought the technology, I decided I was going to use a different method of storing my links.
Enter Ma.gnolia. Again we have another domain with a dot in the word. What is with that? Anyway, I read that this was recently released out of beta and joined. Like delicious, this is another social bookmarking tool, but with cool features. Even better, Yahoo does not own them!
I like the design and layout of the site. I have moved all my links from del.icio.us to ma.gnolia and will soon start using this for all my bookmarks.
The groups feature is interesting because you can see what other members in the group have bookmarked. This is better than going to a search engine since the members decide what sites are worthy, not the technology. I have already joined a few groups.
Other features are bookmark ratings and privacy. Some bookmarks may not want to be viewed by everyone so being able to keep those private is a great thing. They also feature a link roll for sharing bookmarks on your website, which I soon will be implementing.
To view my bookmarks you can go to my profile.

Ok, well I decided to not post the beta link. I wanted to wait until it was finished to mention it. The link is the same and everything has been moved over to the new servers.
For the forum I installed phpBB to replace Ikonboard, which is what was being used prior to the redesign. Although the forum will not match the look and feel of the website, I have made the navigation similar so people know where they are. The navigation should be easier to use.
So if you are interested in the Mac and would be interested in seeing what ApplePickers has to offer then check out the website.

ApplePickers will soon move to a new web host due to cost. Because of this move I have been testing the site on the new servers. Since I have this time to test I am also taking advantage of this time to redesign the website.
The new design will have lots of changes. One will be the elastic text that this site now has. This means that Internet Explorer for Windows will now be able to resize text in the updated website. To do this you would go to View > Text Size and select the size of your choice.
The navigation structure will also be changed for the better. Web pages will have better organization. You will be able to find everything you want in either the main navigation or in the sub-navigation which will be located in the right column of some pages.
I would post a link to view the current beta site, but at the moment I have hit a wall. Somehow my style sheet file was deleted and I am currently working on getting that file restored. When that file is restored I will post a link.

I just upgraded my journal backend from version 1.5 to version 2.0.1. Backing up my data and doing the upgrade took about 30 minutes.
The upgrade should not have disturbed the site too much. As far as I can tell everything is still here and nothing was deleted. I guess this make my website more secure.
