Plan to be Debt Free!

June 18, 2005 3:35 PM

April and I have decided to create a plan to be debt free and to never borrow money again. I have been listening to Dave Ramsey talk about debt freedom on his show. I found out about him through another website and started listening to him.

His ideas are exactly what he says, common sense. The idea of debt is the biggest money maker for banks and credit card companies. Debt is bad for the consumer. When did debt become so popular? Instant gratification has taken over this country. Impulse buying is the craze and it is debt that keeps people broke. Until people realize this, nothing will change.

April and I have decided to buy something only if we have the money for it. We have vowed not to be in debt to anyone. This process will take some time since we are very much in debt. My school loans have really hurt us. We have a solid plan to get rid of all our debt in five years or less. This would seem crazy if you knew how much debt we were in. It is possible and we decided to start a better future by getting out of the quicksand as soon as possible.

Memory to the Max

June 18, 2005 2:04 AM

I recently bought a 1 GB memory upgrade for my iBook. I have been running my iBook G4 on the base 256 MB for quite some time. I tend to use a few applications, so my iBook seems to lag often. I have to resort to closing out apps to speed up the laptop.

I got the memory for $150 from Other World Computing. They are a great company and I also received free shipping. This is a far cry from what Apple charges for memory upgrades, which is very expensive.

Now my iBook RAM memory will be maxed out. Faster is better. Now I just wait for my memory to arrive.
