8 Ways To Fight Climate Change
We should all be accountable for the future of our planet. The government can help, but we can all our part in fighting climate change. There are many other ways to lesson the impact. These steps will get you started.
-
Drive less. Try to plan your driving so you can get more done with less driving.
-
Ditch your car. If you live in a city that offers car sharing, get more information. Many people enjoy the idea of not owning a car and having the ability to share a car for a specific time period.
-
Eat less meat. The meat industry is one of the leading causes of destruction for our environment. You could even be so bold as to go vegetarian or vegan.
-
Get involved. Do not take the planet we live on for granted. Everyone can make a small difference.
-
Use less energy. Turn off lights in rooms you are not occupying and do not waste water.
-
Consume less. Packaging has environmental costs. I am not saying to live in a cave with nothing, but be smart about the purchases you make.
-
Let go of disposables. We live in a disposable society. If it’s broke, throw it away and buy something else. Remember, most disposable items in up in landfills. That has huge environmental impact. Slowly transition to more sustainable items.
-
Recycle and resuse. Before buying something, be creative in what you may already have. Items you think might be trash could have another use you never thought of. If you still cannot think of ways to reuse items, recycle. This is a great way for items to gain new life in another form. Recycling is an afterthought because of how destructive we have been on the environment. However, this can also be a transition that will help build a better future.
